Ripped Jeans + Faux Leather Jacket

If you wait until you can do everything for everybody, instead of something for somebody, you’ll end up not doing anything for anybody. –Unknown

DSC_3068Yesterday I came across a video on Facebook where a 12 year old was standing on the sidewalk in New York City with just a light shirt on in temperatures well below freezing point. He had a garbage bag in one hand, which he ended up getting into as he lay on the sidewalk so as to keep himself warm. The saddest thing about this video were the number of people that casually bypassed this kid who was clearly in need, without even a glance in his direction.

Only one person stopped by to talk to the kid – another homeless person. This man who had nothing was the one that had the most compassion. He removed his jacket and covered the kid as he talked to him when two men who were shooting the video the entire time, came by and thanked him. They informed him that the kid was their younger brother who was not homeless but taking part in an experiment to see how people react to those in need. They gave the man $500 as he hugged each one of them with tears in his eyes. It was so sweet and so sad! Are we really not that compassionate towards other people?

Excuse my digression, I just had to share that story with you guys! Please see more photos below for this outfit post.

It’s not that I don’t wear them because I do when I’m home. I just never feel like there’s anything special about shooting in jeans (I know I’m wrong). I actually wore this outfit last weekend to go see Maze Runner –Scorch Trials. My hubby and I absolutely loved the first one and had to see the second one. Now we have to wait years to see the third one (sigh).

These ripped jeans are definitely one of my favorite. I just love how funky they look. I paired them with a plain white blouse, a faux leather jacket and some sandals. I was clearly going for a slightly edgy look. What do you guys think of this look?
