The Art of Contentment

Be happy in the moment, that’s enough. Each moment is all we need, not more. - Mother Teresa

Hey guys,

On my way home from work, I like to turn off the music and drive in silence sometimes. Did you ever notice how most of us are afraid of the silence and don’t know what to do with ourselves when everything is quiet? I used to be one of those people that consistently needed to be distracted, even whilst studying, I ALWAYS had the music on. But now, I actually love my quiet times. It provides me with an opportunity to reflect, and think (yes think) and talk to myself. I was was thinking about how important it to be intentional about the things that you want for yourself.

Most times we look at other people with admiration because it appears as if they have it altogether and are living their dreams but those samepeople look at their lives with discontent and think about all the things that they are yet to achieve. That is why you can never compare yourself to another person because you have no idea of the sacrifices that they have had to make to get to where they are and you have no idea of the price that they have paid or are still paying to get to where they are in their life.

Life is a journey and everybody has their own to walk. You have to decide what’s important to you and be intentional about the projects that you decide to take on. Above all else, be content with every stage of your life and rejoice in it. We are always so focused on the next stage, that in the process, we lose sight of the beauty of the present. To reiterate Mother Teresa's words - be happy in the moment!

Until next time, stay blessed!
