How to Style a Black Dress Five Different Ways

Hey guys,

One thing I love about Instagram is being able to browse through previous pictures that I have posted up-to-date. I was a little tardy to Instagram and only joined when I started blogging 2 years ago. Anyways, I was scrolling through my pictures and it dawned on me that I have quite a number of different posts featuring  several black dresses. I thought it would be interesting to show you guys a few ideas of how to put together a variety of outfits with a little black dress for different occasions and seasons. Feel free to click on each of the titles below to be directed to the actual outfit post for further details.

1. LBD w/ Stepped Hem and Ruffle

I have never wanted a dress so desperately as I did this little black dress with a stepped hem and the ruffle. Well, I felt that way about one or two other dresses but you get the idea. I had such a hard time finding my size on Asos as it was entirely sold out but I got lucky and managed to find one. This neat, elegant dress is perfect for important occasions such as weddings, anniversary parties, etc. I wore this dress during the summer and paired it with some leopard print sandals perfect for the hot summer weather.img_44271img_44291

2. Black and Gold LBD

Oh Lipsy! How can I ever thank you for all the money that you have stolen from me? You guys know I love Lipsy designs. I purchased this dress a few years ago for my birthday. There's something magical that happens when you take a simple little black dress and imprint some gold floral designs onto it. The gold prints elevate this dress to make it a little bit more sophisticated.dsc_3195dsc_3196

3. Surviving the Holidays in a Glitzy Black Dress

This is one of my favorite posts for several reasons - I was on vacation when I shot it so I was super relaxed; secondly, I guilt-tripped hubby into taking the pictures for me and he took some great shots.

This past holiday season, I did a mini series on holiday outfit ideas and this was one of my ideas for the many holiday parties that people attend during the month of December. Due to the cold weather, I wore a stole in place of a regular scarf (I highly recommend getting one from Forever 21 as they are affordable and very warm) and completed the look with some sleek, over-the-knee boots from Shoedazzle. I love this glitzy mini dress with a sheer lace in the front and the back. It is the perfect dress for a New Year's Eve Party.DSC_41271DSC_42061

4. All Black for a Holiday Party with Over-the-knee Boots

This is another post from my holiday outfit ideas featuring the same over the knee boots as the previous outfit. This plain black dress is a perfect example of the power of accessories. The Bebe gold belt turns this dress from boring to chic. It is the one piece that adds a hint of elegance and sparkle to this entire look, which would otherwise appear too dark. To complete the look, I wore the black maxi coat from Boohoo, creating a perfect black ensemble!DSC_42851DSC_42871

5. A Little Black Dress with a Maxi Coat

I have worn this peplum black dress to several occasions throughout the course of four years and it just doesn't get old. I purchased it from MissGuided while I was in London. The dress has an open back and I just love the sheer lace in the front. There's always something sexy about sheer lace as long as it is not too tacky or revealing. This look was shot in the fall so instead of wearing the dress with over the knee boots, I paired it with some Zigi Soho red pumps. The maxi overlay coat seems to go perfectly with all the dresses. I hope Boohoo has it in other colors so I can add to my collection :-).DSC_38561DSC_38621I hope you guys enjoyed my compilation of black dresses for different ocassions and seasons. Let me know what your favorite looks are from this post. Thank you once again for stopping by!

Have a blessed day!
